Fairfield Interior Designers Love 2023 Color of the Year: Redend Point

January 3, 2023

One of the major ways to create better living is to create beautiful home enviromnents that are just begging to be cozied up in. That's why our interior designers are hard at work all year long following trends and incorporating them using their exceptional design knowledge to create spaces that are as comfortable and functional as they are stylish. One trend they always keep an eye on: the annual color of the year. Our friends and partners at Sherwin Williams selected Redend Point as the color of the year for 2023.

Beyond the 2023 Color of the Year

According to our interior designers, in the industry it is known that color application and interpretation have a direct relation to how our surroundings make us feel, along with guiding our interactions within the space itself. Now more than ever, with people working from their apartments, it is so important for our team to build an environment that will foster a sense of comfort, creativity and community.

This year we are all craving a feeling of calm and warmth, and Redend Point is a wonderful jumping off point to evoke those emotions. The cold greys and icy whites of the past few years, while modern, are no longer in harmony with the direction the new generation desires and, frankly, needs. So how are our Fairfield interior designers using the color of the year to inspire their favorite new palettes? By taking inspiration from natural elements. We captured each designer's take on how they're excited to expand beyond the Redend Point to create elegant interpretations with indulgent hues that are thoughtfully applied to create a really special look.

Color of the Year from a Design Perspective

Aimee Langston, Senior Interior Design Manager

“We have chosen this very ‘new neutral’ palette to evoke all these elements and bring a depth and richness to a space. While also nodding to a sense of nostalgia, these are truly classic colors that are so versatile and will never go out of style.”

elegantly interpreted color palettes

Emily Herrera, Senior Interior Design Manager

“Incorporating tones ranging from buttery soft caramel, silky cognac to a creamy chocolate feel like a warm mink blanket surrounding me. There is nothing more decadent than colors that fill my soul with light providing a solace I need right now.”

Indulgent Hues to see in 2023

Jordan Rotha, Interior Designer

“The message I am trying to send to all those experiencing the space with this palette is 'stop and stay awhile!' Slide into a camel leather seat, take a sip of that iced coffee and relax your mind. Feel the story the environment is trying to tell you. This toned-down approach really provides opportunities for those romantic and grounding moments to just be with yourself. Engaging all your senses inside and out.”
