Canyon Rim Apartments offers 2-bedroom affordable housing apartment homes in San Diego. The opening of our Section 8 waiting list is scheduled for August 11, 2025. The waiting list will be open for seven (7) days or until 500 applications are received, whichever occurs sooner.

OCCUPANCY GUIDELINES

The number of persons permitted to occupy each apartment shall not exceed the occupancy permitted pursuant to the requirements of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development which, as of the Effective Date is two (2) persons per bedroom, plus one (1) person (e.g. for a 2-bedroom apartment the maximum number of persons residing in the unit can be five (5) persons).

SECTION 8 PRE-APPLICATION FORM
WAITLIST AGREEMENT

Canyon Rim Apartments participates in the PBS8 low-income housing program, and therefore, income restrictions apply. All applicants will be required to provide detailed and personal information pertaining to income and assets during the application process. Duplicate pre-applications will not be considered.

Completing the pre-application below is the first step in determining eligibility. Not everyone who completes the pre-application will be eligible, and this request does not guarantee you an apartment.

After you submit the completed pre-application, you will receive a confirmation number in writing by email or mail. Pre-applicants will only be contacted if they are chosen.

If you cannot access the pre-application through here or need a paper copy of the pre-application, you may obtain a copy at the following location. Please contact the leasing office at (858) 672-2001 for assistance with language services and reasonable accommodation requests.

In order to remain active on the Waiting List, if selected, the applicant agrees to the following:

  • If selected, a management agent will conduct a formal interview and commence the qualification process to determine eligibility. Each applicant 18 years of age or older will be required to complete another, more detailed application and submit personal information pertaining to income and assets.

  • The applicant must complete their application within 7 (seven) days and submit to management via email, mail, or in-person.

  • An application will be considered inactive/rejected if the applicant does not respond within 14 days to phone calls and/or notices.

  • If the application refuses the available unit, they will be removed from the pre-applicant list. If an applicant is removed from the **waiting** list, and subsequently the owner determines that an error was made in removing the applicant (e.g., the incorrect address was used in sending mail to the applicant, **the applicant did not respond to information or updates because of a disability**), the applicant must be reinstated at the original place on the waiting list.

  • The applicant will immediately notify management in writing of any changes to the information provided on the Pre-Application Agreement.
