Ziplock Crock-Pot Freezer Meals Round-Up

March 1, 2017

By the time dinner time comes around, it seems nearly impossible to muster up enough energy to make a nice meal.  That’s why your crock-pot needs to become your best friend!  Throw in your ingredients before you head off to work or to run errands and it’ll be ready by the time dinner comes around.  Now, to make life even easier, prep these meals a week in advanced!  Take a Sunday, or any free day, and make meals ahead of time by putting all ingredients in ziplock bags and freezing them.  All you have to do is defrost the meals overnight and put them in the crock-pot in the morning – it’s really that easy!

  1. Beef and Barley Stew  Mmm, this sounds absolutely delicious!  This meal has all the goodies: veggies, protein, and carbs – it’s a win win!

  2. Pasta Fagioli  This delicious, convenient spin on a traditional Italian soup is perfect for chilly evenings.  Cook it on low for 8 hours and it’ll be ready by the time you get home from work – score!
  3. Chicken Curry  We know curry is an acquired flavor, but for those of you that love curry, this is a must-try!  Another recipe that takes 8 hours to cook, meaning it’ll be ready just in time for dinner!

  4. Chicken and rice  This recipe is simple but still so delicious!  It’s great for kids and even picky eaters.  It takes 3-4 hours to cook in the slow cooker, so if you plan on having this dish be finished by the time you get home, you may want to put it on a timer so it turns off after 4 hours.
  5. Beef roast and carrots  Who doesn’t love a good, tender beef roast?  This recipe only contains beef and carrots, so I think I’d add in some potatoes and other veggies as well!
  6. Beef shepherds pie  A lovely, homey shepherds pie is always hard to say no to.  Shepherds pie is sometimes a hit or miss, but this recipe seems to always be a hit with everyone!

  7. Chicken cordon bleu casserole  Oh my goodness, this recipe is to die for!  Talk about the most delicious slow cooker recipe ever – this chicken cordon bleu will not disappoint.
  8. Smothered steak  No need to break out the grill for this steak recipe.  This is one of the easiest crock-pot freezer meals I have ever come across.
  9. Sweet garlic chicken  Of course we couldn’t forget a scrumptious Asian-inspired dish.  If you’re a fan of spicy, go ahead and throw in some chili flakes to heat things up a little!
