The Seaton is Just 10 Minutes from San Diego's Best Destinations

With everything you need to live life to the fullest on site, it's easy to overlook the incredible San Diego landmarks that are within minutes of The Seaton. But don't! Enjoying your life in San Diego means having the best of both worlds: comfort and style at home and the convenience and entertainment of nearby attractions. The Seaton is just 10 minutes from...

Old Town

The historic state park is home to some of San Diego's best Mexican food, as well as shops at the Old Town Market, entertainment at Cygnet Theatre, and plenty of historic buildings. In the fall, indulge your spooky side with some of the areas famous haunted attractions, such as The Whaley House Museum or the cemetery-adjacent speakeasy Oculto 477. Old Town is also the starting destination of the Old Town Trolley Tour, a 2-hour narrated adventure that includes a hop-on-hop-off option.

Belmont Park

There's no age limit when it comes to fun, and there's no better place to indulge in classic carnival games, rides, and attractions than Mission Bay's Belmont Park. Ride the Giant Dipper, one of the West Coast's two remaining wooden roller coasters, play laser tag or a round of putt putt golf, or climb the rock wall. There are also plenty of carnival-inspired snacks - including the ever-delicious Dole Whip - as well as signature restaurants ranging from Cannonball sushi to Beach House Tequila + Taqueria.

Mission Bay Park

It's the largest public park system in the country and you'd never know it was man made. Flanked by Mission Beach to the west and the 5 Freeway to the east, this network of islands is equal parts land and equal parts water... meaning there is something for everyone. Even Fido has a place to roam free at Fiesta Island! There are plenty of boat launch points throughout the park as well as rental options at Mission Bay Aquatic Center if you don't have your own water toys. Or stay on land with more than 14 miles of paths for walking, running, blading, or biking. There are even public restrooms in designated areas.

Gaslamp Quarter + Little Italy

Collectively home to dozens of restaurants, these two behemoths in San Diego's culinary scene are just blocks from each other and a few miles south of The Seaton. On weekends, much of the Gaslamp Quarter becomes a pedestrian zone, making it easier to enjoy the sights and sips of a variety of cuisines. Little Italy also offers far more than Italian menus, including restaurants from Top Chef stars Richard Blais (Juniper & Ivy) and Brian Malarky (Herb & Wood) and Gillian and Mauricio Couturier’s Wolfie's Carousel Bar that spins like a working carousel.

Fashion Valley Mall

The open-air mall makes it easy to get your shopping done without sacrificing sunshine. Anchored by department store staples Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, JC Penney's, Neiman Marcus, and Macy's, Fashion Valley is also home to local shops and boutiques, a sizeable food court, signature restaurants for an elevated dining experience, and an 18-screen AMC Theatre. For additional shopping and entertainment, explore the newly renovated and constantly expanding Westfield UTC which is just 15 minutes up the 5 Freeway.

Liberty Station

One of San Diego's fastest growing areas, Liberty Station is a historic former military compound that now offers a range of retailers, restaurants, businesses, and social spaces. Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens has an expansive indoor and outdoor space here. It's also home to trendy decor and plant shop Pigment, authentic upscale Italian pizzeria Officine Buona Forchetta, and well-rounded Liberty Public Market, which is packed with individual vendor stalls. Keep an eye on the events calendar because there are always festivals and activities utilizing some of the grounds.
