Supporting Small Businesses

Many small businesses have been hit hard in 2020 because of Covid. With so many struggling it’s essential to shop locally or find small businesses online to support instead of or in addition to big retailers! Here are some ways to find and shop small businesses.

Use Instagram – Instagram is a great way to discover small businesses. First you can search hashtags for things that you’re interested in buying. Second, you can search #smallbusiness or #shoplocal + #YourCity, State or Country to find literally thousands of small businesses posting their items. Third, while you’re on the app, you’re bound to come across ads. Many of these ads are in fact small businesses, so instead of skipping over them, maybe take a look at what their store has to offer.

Shop EtsyEtsy is a great one stop shop for a ton of small businesses. If you’re shopping for gifts, this is a great place to start. You can usually find anything you’re looking for and the best part is you supporting small businesses, artists, and creatives.

Shop Local Markets – Check local shops to see if there will be a small business collective or market. Although it’s likely there will be less in person shopping this year, there’s a good chance small businesses will be trying to get as much business as they can regardless!

Search Google – Google is great at listing local businesses. Simply type in what you’re looking for and you’re bound to have some local shops pop up in the results.

Follow these steps and you’ll definitely find some great small businesses to support!
