If the mom in your life is a new mom to babies or toddler-age children, chances are what she’s craving more than anything is a break and some “me" time. Take over on baby duties for a full day to give her some much needed time to relax. Book a massage for her while you take care of the kids and then have dinner ready when she comes home. It’s the little things – like personal time and space – that mean the most when she’s new to mamahood.
If the mom you're celebrating has kids are little older, one of the nicest things you can do for Mother’s Day is incorporate the kids into an activity she'll appreciate. Have the kids help with breakfast in bed for mom or take a day trip somewhere with the whole family. Mama will feel extra special when she sees the whole family is in on her surprise. Of course you can also hire a babysitter and surprise her with a nice night out as well. Dinner and a movie is a classic for a reason!
Once the kids are out of the house, it's always a surerfire way to make Mom happy by bringing everyone together for a meal or an activity. If you live in town, take her out to brunch and make the day about her. Live far away from your parents? Get that card in the mail and be sure to call Mother’s Day morning. Hearing her kids voices over the phone will mean more than any gift, but sending flowers will be the icing on the cake for Mama.
