Humans and pets have a long history together and this special holiday started to gain popularity in the early 2000s. These days pets are more a part of the family than ever.

Here are some ways to make your pet feel extra special!

New Toys – Dogs and cats love having new toys to play with. Not only does it help them release energy and keep them entertained, but it’s also a chance for you to interact with your pet. Pet toys usually don’t have a long shelf life so new toys are always needed for your fur baby!

Health Updates – While not the most fun, one of the best things you can do for your pet is take them to their annual vet check ups and keep them up to date with vaccinations.

Day Trip – Dogs love day trips! Cats not so much. So if you’re more of a cat person, staying home and cuddling your cat is a much better option. For dog lovers though, take your pup for a day trip to the beach, lake, car ride, or for a hike. They’ll be super excited to be with you plus they’ll be ready for a big nap when they get home!

Cuddles & Snuggles – Let’s face it, our pets love attention and one on one time. So schedule out some time to cuddle with your pet whether it’s a dog, cat, guinea pig, or rabbit. Reptiles maybe not so much!

Most of all your pets just want love and attention so this is the perfect opportunity to do just that!
