Family Friendly July 4th Celebration Ideas

Tired of the traditional 4th of July BBQ and want to do something a little more memorable with your kids this year? You can easily make July 4th 2019 stand out by doing something a little out of the box that will keep your kids excited and busy having fun.

These are also great ideas to have a separate kid-friendly celebration that doesn’t involve being around excess partying, which can tend to happen on 4th of July. Skip the traditional party celebration and get together with like-minded families for a more low key observance of the holiday.

Here’s some of our favorite ideas to celebrate with the entire family.

Bike Parade – Create your own parade this 4th of July with other families in your neighborhood or apartment community with a bike parade. This is a great way to meet new neighbors and make friends with local families, plus get some exercise!

Outdoor Movie Screenings – Summer is the season for outdoor movie screenings! Create one in your backyard or ask your property manager if it’s okay to set one up in the outdoor community area. Choose movies that everyone will love, this is a great way to bring neighbors together for a kid friendly activity.

Patriotic Themed Dinner Party – Many of our new apartment communities have outdoor lounge areas that are perfect for dinner parties. Create a patriotic themed dinner party with all of the traditional barbecue dishes that we all know and love, plus July 4th themed cocktails, mocktails, desserts and party decor.

Family Picnic – If you just want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of 4th of July, why not do a low key picnic with just the family? Head to the park with a blanket, cooler and plenty of food!

City Parade – Kids love parades and usually on 4th of July most towns and cities have some sort of patriotic parade that takes place. This is a fun activity that creates happy memories. Be sure to arrive early and bring your lawn chairs!
