2017 Decor trends and go-to color palettes

2016 brought us some really great decor trends, like mismatch cabinets, grey and neutral color palettes, rose gold everything, accent walls, and so much more.  As much as we will miss some of those fabulous trends, we’re really excited for what 2017 has to offer!  The list of 2017 decor trends could go on forever but we’ll keep it short and sweet and just cover our favorite predicted trends for this year.  Happy designing!

  1. Gallery walls were a hit in 2016 and, luckily, they’ll continue into 2017!  We love gallery walls so we’re beyond happy that they will be trending through this next year.  Check out these helpful tips from Apartment Therapy when you’re laying out your new gallery wall!
  2. Personalized and unique pieces are going to become very popular.  Straying away from mass produced items, like furniture pieces, adds a unique and personal touch to your home.  Take a peek at the gorgeous fair trade, handcrafted furniture over at Serrv.  Pier 1 Imports also has some great unique furniture pieces despite being a chain store.  Uncommon Goods is also a really cool place to find some great furniture!
  3. Marble and brass combinations will be big in 2017; it will definitely be prominent in kitchens and bathrooms.  A clean marble paired with brass just seems to go together so well!  We love the exposed, open look under the vanity – so industrial.
  4. Pantone color of the year: Greenery.  This color definitely isn’t what we would’ve imagine the color of 2017 would be!  This is a color you’ll have to be careful using and you should really know what you’re doing when using it – things can go south quite fast if this bright green isn’t used properly or is used in excess.
